5.29.2012; Thunderstorms!; Anniversaries!

The 29th is my parents' anniversary. 30 years! Here they are on their wedding day in 1982:

I'm so thankful for them. And that may be the most hipster photo ever. If there were a PBR in every hand, it would be too much.

Gabe took care of Ondine while I was at work yesterday. When I got off work, I met them at the park. As soon as I got there, a thunderstorm came calling. Ondine is NOT a fan of thunderstorms. But she did good. And she had her first trip to Bongo!

Then Gabe, Nicholas, Ondine and I went to our house to help Gabe clean his room. This is what the city looked like after the storm.

Then we snatched up Tanya and went to Luke and Chelsy's house to have fun. And we did have fun.

5.25-28.2012; or, Memorial Day Weekend; or, Meiska Get's a Doggie

My mom and I drove south into Chattanooga to pick up my new doggie, Ondine, the Portuguese Water Dog. She is perfect. Curly hair and webbed toes, just like me.

But she doesn't get to sleep in my bed like me.

The next day brought Bradley and Kendra's wedding day!

Me and the sister of the groom, my best friend Bethany (who also got her first pet this weekend!).

Mr. & Mrs. Pennington!

My new oil-on-tin portrait from 1855 finally arrived. Oh yeeessss.

She was sad that she didn't get to go to the wedding.

More cookies!

We took Ondine to my parents' house to play for Memorial Day.

She loves her Gabey.

Sleepy.

Finally, big juicy raindrops cooled the earth.

I made these two versions of a poster for The Double Life of Veronique, but I can't decide which one I like better. I really like both of them, and that never really happens.

I'm going to pick up my dog tomorrow from Chattanooga. I can't wait.

But first I'm going to keep working tonight on the decorations for Bradley and Kendra's wedding on Saturday.

5.16-20.2012; a long 'weekend' (more like workend)

The sun set the horizon on fire on Wednesday night.

The next day I left work early for a Dr.'s appointment. I got out of the Dr in time to catch the earlyish showing of Deep Blue Sea at the Belcourt.
I was the only one there.
Lovely drive home from there.

Had a good night of sitting with friends in the city afterwards.

The next day I was sore from all the tests at the Dr. (you can only get so much blood drawn before you feel horrible), but luckily I was planning on spending most of the day in a car with Gabe to pick up Christopher.

Up through Kentucky, into Indiana, one last time.

SO MUCH MOVING.

Bloomington is a place we will not miss.

Louisville is beautiful.

Suspicious skies.

I bought all the plants that home depot had on Sunday morning and then planted them all before 4:00 that afternoon. I was sunburned.
1 large lavender plant, 4 'autumn joys', 1 large rosemary plant, 1 'wise wizard' lily, 12 petunias, 2 large geraniums, 1 sweet basil plant, 1 heirloom black cherry tomato plant, 1 heirloom 'Mr. Stripey' tomato plant, 2 huge begonia plants, and 12 celosias.
Serious calories were burned.

And of course we went to Gallatin when we got back into the Holy Land.

Gabe was excited to drive over this creek. Twice.

Finished off the weekend-filled-with-work with Madmen.
