BEHOLD!

For those of you interested, a Coldplay concert will be on PBS Saturday Night at 10:00 pm. The time probably changes regionally, so check the listings. Happy!

I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm quite behind on making my Christmas gifts, so if you want one, you'd better let me go! Have a very merry CHRISTmas-time!

Oh wait, I get it. CHRIST-mas? You mean it's about Jesus? I never would have guessed from all the DUMB COMMERCIALISM THAT FOLLOWS ME EVERY DUMB PLACE I GO! AGHH!

.....
OK, rantage closed. Have fun making presents and have a wonderful Christmas.

I agree, Penny Lane; many Christians (myself included) tend to be fantastically bad at choosing their battles. Why make unbelievers pay lip-service to Christ? Is that really what He wants us to focus on?

On the other hand, this is not what I was talking about in my comment above; what I was saying was that I'm the kind of person who, when he is told something over and over again (to the point of absurdity), will eventually shut out anything related to that. I don't want that to happen with Christ.

This is why it bugs me when people try to market Christmas; because when I see Cheap-o Jesus everywhere I begin to forget about the Real Jesus, and this forgetting is something which scares me to death.

(For Queen Mum and Some Girl, this is also why I avoid Christmas music on the radio. It wears out the "Baby Jesus" record of my mind. But I guess since this is just a personality quirk, I don't really have a reason to stop you from listening to it! Sorry!)

Wow, I put too much into this comment; talk about your poorly picked battles!

I agree with Penny also, concerning Happy Holidays Merry Christmas, here is an exaggerated scenario concerning this debate:
Christmas is about Jesus's birth and Jesus was love so unless you say "Merry Christmas" you are going to heck.
Then again on the other end of the spectrum there are people so concerned with "Seperation of Church and State" that some kid was sued for saying "Merry Christmas" in the hall of his school. (Now I could be wrong about the above story but I'm pretty sure I heard it from a good souce.)

But that wasn't the point of the post; I unfortunetly missed the special because I was stuck at the airport for SIX STINKING HOURS YESTERDAY!!! Sigh.

But Why, the hours do not stink with a copy of Orthodoxy by your side! Ah, love!

It's funny; Coldplay is one of the most timid bands I've come across when it come to musical experimentation, but in concert Chris Martin is a wild man; intensity like you wouldn't believe.

To all: I'm saying that Christmas is about Jesus Christ, whatever it may be called.

To Why and those stuck in an airport: Too bad you missed the concert. They did 'Till Kingdom Come' (my favorite Coldplay song) and then went straight into 'Ring of Fire'. Talk about memories!

To Tessie: Merry Christmas!

To Eriol: OK, OK, I get it! You sound a little deranged about Hewson and Lennon, maybe we should invite them too.( This is random, but I had a dream the other night that I met the Edge at Red Lobster. Yeah, weird.)
