A bit of a ghost of the day before. Mostly photos, these days, since I tend to use my words in real life now.

5.4.2012
My brother and I drove up to the house we grew up in on Friday night. It's eerie in the close-moon-moonlight.

These are magnolia days,
When the wildness of the honeysuckle
Has succumbed to the sun,
And the sophisticated scent of the wax wealthy
Magnolia meanders down rows of trimmed hedges.
It is welcomed where the honeysuckle has been denied.
It makes its home in the city, in the South,
Where women walking down streets
Will turn their slanted eyes
To the great white flowers and gasp,
And men will tip their hats to the scent as they pass through.
Its existence eases the burden of a civilized concrete heat.

I got to keep my niece and nephew while my parents were visiting my brother Luke and his wife Chelsey (who just got accepted into Medical School {yay!} and they are moving far away {no!}).
Arianna was excited to have gotten this album from her mom the other day.
We went to the park after we ate at Red Robin.
There was stumbling.
We smiled.
We rested.
The sun set.
And continued to set.
And set the whole way home.
When we got back to my house, the kids helped me plant some new flowers I bought. Then we fell asleep in my bed at the late hour of 9:00pm.

May Day and May 2nd, 2012
This is what I look like on the first of May
I got to have dinner with my mom and my niece and nephew
At Chili's
Looks like his last ride
Coffee with friends under this tree with those lights

Weekend 4.27-29.2012
I am a pirate captain (ignore the embroidery in the background).
Got my niece ready for her '70's dance.'
Frolicked under the sky.
Got to spend some time with my friend Rachael.
